Our client, an international oil and gas operator requires a Senior Environment Engineer to start asap, working until the end of March 2020. This position is based in Aberdeen.

 

The job-holder will have considerable liaison with the operational sites within the asset and will work in conjunction with Technical services, other assets and the corporate HSE function, they must ensure that a comprehensive support service is provided which considers specific operational constraints; Shall be required to use initiative to improve current working practise within the asset; Is expected to travel frequently to site as part of their duties to conduct environment briefings, training, inspections, audits and general communication activities as required.

 

The Senior Environment Engineer reports to the HSE Manager.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Safe operations of the asset as well as the area of Shared Services allocated to the asset (Projects and Geosciences)
  • Prepare and submit to regulator all relevant environmental permits for on and offshore operations including, but not limited to, MAT, SAT, OCR, OPPC, IPPC, OPEP, EUETS, COMAH, CAR Licences and PPC.
  • Internal Communications: Field Operations Manager, Maintenance & Inspection Leader, KPI Co-ordinator, CPR Engineers, OIMs / Terminal Manager, RSES, RSES-D, Medics, Safety Representatives & Technical Authorities, Environment Manager
  • External Communications: Regulatory Bodies (HSE, BEIS, OPRED, SEPA), Joint Venture Representatives, Key contractors’ representatives.
  • Maintain a high awareness of industry and professional best practice through effective networking, professional organisations, journals, etc.
  • Provides environmental expertise and advice to Asset Field Operations, Performance & Growth, Geosciences, Wells Construction & Maintenance teams. Responsible for providing support to site based HSE professionals and working with them on common objectives
  • Responsible for the input of Environmental objectives into the annual asset HSE improvement plan
  • Responsible for the input of Environmental audits into the annual asset audit plan through a risk based assessment looking at areas such as legal compliance and incident trends
  • Responsible for input into the annual monitoring plan for the asset
  • Responsible for implementation of the work programme for ISO14001 certification, including on and offshore surveillance/re-certification audits within the asset
  • Responsible for conducting monitoring activities and audits in accordance with the asset plans
  • Responsible for ensuring the Asset Aspects and Impacts Register is kept up to date and for providing the necessary technical input to operations to achieve this
  • Responsible for the production of appropriate Level 3 and Level 4 procedures and related training materials for environment. This may require spending a period on the operational site during roll-out and implementation
  • Responsible for Liaison with Regulatory bodies (BEIS, SEPA, etc.): permitting regime, regulatory inspections. Ensure compliance with country specific environmental legislation and Company Rules in line with continuous improvement principles
  • Facilitate accident investigation/root cause analysis
  • Accountable for daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, annual and ad-hoc environmental reporting for Asset (internal & external)
  • Manage preparation of Environmental Statements for new developments
  • Chair onshore Environmental Focus Team meetings involving personnel from various disciplines.
  • Trained member of the Oil Spill Response Group in an event of major spill
  • Follow up of environmental incidents via Stre@m
  • Responsible for the HSE evaluation of contractors during the ITT process and the follow up of any recommendations made during the HSE evaluation
  • Contributes to budgets and plans for work activities and assist in cost control
  • Provides technical input on contractor / consultant selection in contracts with environmental management element
  • Represents Company in industry committees and specialist forums involving legislative authorities and other oil and gas operators
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements, company rules related to Environment within asset
  • Accountable for providing specialist direction in ISO14001 certified Environment Management System matters
  • Accountable for provision of technical environmental expertise and challenge to Field Operations, Performance and Growth, Geosciences, Wells Construction and Maintenance within asset and provision of support to the company where required
  • Accountable for promoting environmental best practice within the asset and minimising the potential for damage to the Company’s reputation

Key requirements: 

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, i.e. engineering or scientific subject preferably environmental engineering, marine biology or environmental related

Cost Performance

Our client, an international oil and gas operator requires a Well Performance Engineer to start asap. Initially until November 2019, with extension. Based in Aberdeen.

 

The candidate must identify, evaluate, recommend and implement opportunities to maximise value in terms of production, well and reservoir performance over the short to medium term.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Conduct daily production optimisation efforts for Client’s Field production systems to reach their maximum production limit; monitor and evaluate offshore well production and surface process performance, report changing production parameters, in a systematic manner.
  • Support offshore production operations e.g. daily communication with CRO, weekly production performance meeting, monthly issuance of field Production Optimisation Guideline (POG), etc.
  • Update and maintain well models in PROSPER to support all production optimization efforts; maintain and utilize the field system network model in GAP of its capacities and potentials. Using this calibrated model, identify production bottlenecks (and possible future bottlenecks) and recommend economic solutions to remove or mitigate these bottlenecks.
  • Manage sand production from the well e.g. monitor daily the acoustic sand detection system, identify sand event with changing production condition, provide input to the monthly ENS Sand Management Meeting, understand sand sampling results, optimise the well to produce at its production envelope to mitigate sand production.
  • Manage the well testing program for all producing wells from scheduling, update procedure (if required), and verify well test data and proper documentation of well test data in the production database.
  • Coordinate evaluations of production loss, ensure proper categorisation and through a validation during the weekly production performance meeting, inform the Hydrocarbon Allocation team of these losses. Continuously develop plans to prevent losses with regards to well performance.
  • Ensure well integrity testing is conducted on time with the right procedure; if required interface with the well integrity team in the event wells fail the testing requirements and contribute to the follow up tasks, if any.
  • Optimise gas lift wells and the lift gas system e.g. gas lift modelling, lift gas distribution modelling, and recommend GLV changes, if required.
  • Prepare, attend and contribute in the weekly production performance meeting and monthly production performance group meeting. Similarly, to other planned well reviews meeting.
  • Provide the following support, but not limited to, support to the commercial team in the preparation of information to the co-venture as required in the Flyndre Operating Agreements, support production forecasting for weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual forecast requirements, support preparation of requests to OGA for developing yearly production and flaring requirements, support the Hydrocarbon Accounting team on production reporting and allocation, support Geoscience teams in well, reservoir and facility reviews.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Commercially aware exploration geophysicist capable of managing those issues that may arise as part of exploration evaluation and operations.
  • Collaborate with other Exploration BU Geophysicists to ensure sharing of best practice and consistency in interpretation and quality of technical assessments and outputs.

Specific responsibilities include:

Key requirements: 

  • Geology or Geophysics degree or equivalent with relevant work experience.
  • Relevant post graduate experience in upstream oil and gas (exploration & production), based on core skills in geophysics with considerable experience in exploration focused roles.
  • Candidates must be experienced, commercially aware geophysicists with a strong technical background in operated exploration programs and new ventures. Displaying the ability to influence decisions made through technical expertise and experience and will be capable of managing issues that may arise as part of exploration evaluations.

  • Direct experience of maturing leads to robust drillable prospects, well planning, operations and post-well analysis and reporting. Proven interpreter and prospect generator.

Responsible for mentoring and support of more junior staff across all the UKBU subsurface teams, and work with the UKBU Subsurface Manager to ensure team members have appropriate career development support.  Provide reservoir engineering peer review and assistance across the business unit.

Peer review and effectively mentor Reservoir Engineers across the business unit to ensure delivery of consistently high-quality work and decisions.

Key Requirements:

  • BSc in Engineering or Geoscience discipline or equivalent experience.  Preferably a post-graduate qualification in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience and current technical capability as a reservoir engineer with an E&P Operator working on operated production, appraisal and development projects.
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary subsurface work/teams.
  • Track record of field development, reservoir performance prediction and proposing and implementing successful reservoir management and production improvement recommendations.
  • Experience of performing economic analysis and utilising the results to support of investment proposals.
  • Experience of mentoring and supporting more junior staff.
  • Highly competent subsurface leader with a strong reservoir engineering and reservoir management back-ground, and a good working knowledge of the other subsurface disciplines.
  • Technical capability to provide and manage development of fit-for-purpose reservoir models and up-to-date working knowledge of technical software including Eclipse, Petrel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of T Navigator, assisted history matching workflows and integration of 4D seismic data into reservoir simulator history matching would be an advantage.  An understanding of injectite reservoirs is desirable but not a pre-requisite.
  • Good understanding and recent experience of drilling and production operations.

Our client, an international E&P operator, is seeking a Senior Wellheads & Operational Engineer in support of operations in the North Sea for an initial 12 month contract.

Working as part of a team, this role will be responsible for the onshore planning and offshore supervision during the installation of vertical XTs, ensuring compliance with the company’s Well Engineering Management Standard (WEMS), HSE Risk Management Standard, Government Regulations and local industry guidelines / best practices with due regards for health, safety and the environment.

Key responsibilities:

The installation of the Dril-Quip Vertical XT from the drilling rig during the completion phase of the well, including but not limited to:

  • All Interfaces with the Drilling Contractor (Rig)
  • Running / Retrieval of the Drilling HP Riser
  • Tubing Hanger Preparation & Installation
  • Vertical XT Preparation & Installation
  • Running / Retrieval of the EDP / Dual Bore Riser / Surface Tree

Key requirements:

Our Client, an Aberdeen based E&P Operator has an immediate requirement for a Drilling Superintendent.

Contract basis.

Responsibilities :

  • Work Scope Objective Lead – Coordinate and manage the safe, effective and efficient drilling, completions and wells subsea activity, meeting all internal and external procedural and regulatory standards.
  • Lead the onshore and offshore drilling, completions and wells subsea teams to ensure all activities are planned and executed with HSE at the forefront, while maintaining an incident free workplace – including effective HSE incident investigations.
  • Responsible for all well planning activity including well designs, drilling, completions and subsea programmes, operational procedures, AFEs, government submissions etc.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers and stakeholders including production, subsurface, partners, regulatory bodies and subsea teams to ensure that all well objectives are understood and met.
  • Drive efficient, timely and accurate wells cost reporting, logistics management and interfaces with key finance processes and procedures while meeting budget constraints.
  • Ensure that all major service contracts for the well are put in place, fit for purpose, and maintained / evaluated on a continuous basis. Coordinate all subcontractors to ensure a seamless operation, with excellent communication between all parties.
  • Provide an onshore single point of contact for all rig related matters during contracting, planning and operations.
  • Maintain a visible well site presence with regular offshore visits to the well site. Ensuring operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner while providing support to the offshore team.
  • Ensure effective and thorough end of well reporting including technical and commercial aspects and capturing all lessons learned for future wells.

Requirements: 

  • Engineering Degree / equivalent / significant experience in a similar position preferably with E&P Operator.

  • Co-ordinate all subcontractors to ensure planning interfaces are aligned and seamless operations follow, with excellent communication between all parties.
  • Ensure all activities are planned and executed with HSE at the forefront.
  • Continuous monitoring of all well performance including; HSE, operations, logistics and continuous improvement. QA of all daily reports and other progress updates as required. Performance monitoring in relation to well objectives, and tracking of financial and technical KPI’s including non-conformance reports and incident investigations.
  • Preparation of cost estimates for well design as required. Responsible for optimising well designs to meet budget constraints and monitoring spend throughout operations to ensure costs are maintained within budget.
  • Prepare end of well reports, ensuring all well data is collated and stored agreed format.

    Specific Requirements / Project 1 –

Responsible for optimising well designs to meet budget constraints and monitoring spend throughout operations to ensure costs are maintained within budget.

    Experience running ESP completions preferable.
    Previous North Sea (& West Of Shetland) experience with all types of rigs and a variety of operations
