The successful candidate will provide Strategic Leadership of the Engineering, Maintenance, Integrity and Brownfield Projects functions in support of safe and efficient operations as dictated by the Corporate HSE&A Policy, Corporate Major Accident Prevention Policy and Asset Safety Cases.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the development, implementation and up-keep of UKBU Management Systems in compliance with Corporate Standards and UK Regulations.
  • Accountable for the provision of a competent and capable organisation to support UKBU Assets requirements, including lifecycle planning requirements, ensuring resources are effectively and efficiently deployed.
  • In collaboration with Supply Chain Management, responsible for the development and implementation of contracting strategies to support the delivery of planned activities and a contractor technical performance management process to support the vendor management processes.
  • Responsible for assuring that the required activities are included in the Budget and Planning process to ensure sustained safe and efficient delivery of business targets.
  • Accountable for the collection and reporting of Key Performance Indicators associated with activities in line with the requirements of the corporate standards and UK Regulations.
  • Responsible, in collaboration with the HSE Manager, for the planning and completion of annual audit, monitoring and assurance activities associated with Process Safety Management and in line with corporate standards and UK Regulations.
  • In collaboration with the Technical Services Manager, responsible for the development and implementation of annual Continuous Improvement plans for the UKBU projects functions.

Key requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer, or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Degree or MSc or equivalent experience.
  • Must have relevant operational and maintenance management or delivery experience.
  • Experience with oil and gas operations, both topsides and subsea including associated equipment classes and corresponding risks from a technical and practical stand-point.
  • Experience with operational maintenance and integrity management, delivery and optimisation. Sound appreciation of general maintenance and integrity, inspection and repair activities and techniques. Familiar with project/developments/operations and typical oil company processes.

Lead Asset Well Intervention Engineer

Our Client, an Aberdeen based International E&P Operator has an immediate requirement for a Lead Asset Well Intervention Engineer.

The key objective of the role is to be the asset focal point for well interventions within the asset; this will be achieved through collaborating closely with the well interventions team, well integrity and drilling in Technical Services along with planning, finance, geoscience, field operations and performance and growth teams within the asset itself.  The role is primarily office-based with occasional visits offshore.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Liaise closely with various stakeholders to ensure production management practices are aligned.
  • Provide input to the opportunity maturation process, including identification and justification of production optimisation opportunities.
  • Provision of asset support to ensure timely and effective delivery of projects and interventions.

  • Prepare timely and accurate cost reporting for internal and external clients.
  • Analyse actual costs and forecast expenditure as directed and provide details on variances between budget and forecast.

Key responsibilities:

Key requirements:

Senior Mechanical Engineer (Turbomachinery Specialist)

Our Client, an International E&P Operator has an immediate requirement for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Turbomachinery Specialist). Starting as soon as possible until November 2020.

Contract basis – PAYE

This is a new position. The successful candidate will be based in Aberdeen within the Maintenance Team in the NNS Asset, which includes 3 mature producing platforms (2 x topside jacket facilities and 1 x FPSO). To provide guidance on daily well production optimisations and medium to long term strategic management of well stock.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting sites by providing specialist technical/engineering advice and expertise in rotating machines, and turbo-machinery in particular, in a timely manner to queries and minimal disruption to operations:
  • Monitor on a daily basis all main equipment, using all available data (RAID, PI, SYSTEM 1)
  • Undertake in-depth analyses/studies of problems, including root cause analysis approach when necessary.
  • Identify and proposes effective short-term / longer-term solutions and/or options to site/offshore personnel on the operation and maintenance of plant/equipment, ensuring highest safety standards and taking into account operation and economic constraints.
  • Contribute to the optimisation of maintenance, inspection and operation strategies of plant/equipment, to ensure that all plant and equipment meets verification and compliance requirements.
  • Identify efficiency of condition-based maintenance program and proposes / manages its implementation in replacement of systematic maintenance: vibration and process parameters monitoring, oil analysis, use of NDT technologies.
  • Carry out routine gap analysis between current practices and their discipline approved codes of practice and standards and assess requirements for implementation within the company.
  • Develop reliabilities studies for turbo-machinery and more generally rotating equipment
  • Prepare or review scopes of work and economic justification for modifications or main maintenance activities ensuring they are correctly engineered, documented and reported, in line with asset production, economical and scheduling constraints, and that all maintenance activities/modifications are implemented in accordance with statutory/Company standards and correctly closed-out.
  • Propose and estimate specific budget lines, including benefits evaluation, manage approved budgets, monitoring costs and ensure that expenditures are within budget.
  • Act as Contract Representative on specific maintenance contracts (if any).
  • Unplanned activities, monitoring and controlling manpower usage, vendor/contractor performance and expenditure. Participate, as appropriate, in vendor/contractor technical audits.
  • Take a lead role in the involvement/co-ordination of, and interface between, onshore/site/offshore teams/contractors.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities related to rotating equipment are appropriately prioritised within operations maintenance plans.
  • When required, participate in/contribute to safety studies/HAZOPS, etc.
  • Encourage the reporting of all incidents, ensure that incidents are investigated and action incident close-outs as appropriate.
  • Conduct ad-hoc technical surveys on site/offshore and at vendor/repair locations, providing detailed technical reports identifying problems and solutions and ensuring optimum performance from contractors.
  • Ensure all relevant operations and maintenance procedures and documentation are maintained in an accurate and current status and are available on request.
  • Coach and contribute to the development of young engineers.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with site personnel through effective communication and by making regular visits to offshore installations.
  • Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Keeps aware of the innovations and developments in their discipline and apply where necessary.
  • Participate in internal and external technical audits, take part in incident investigations, pro-actively engage in survey, assessment or analysis of any technical situation in the field.
  • Represent Company on Industry Committees and specialist forums (including R&D JIPs, where relevant) especially when they involve other oil and gas operators and/or legislative authorities. Ensure that the local specifications are available as the Technical Reference. Ensures that the Technical Reference is either in agreement with Group specifications and rules or appropriate derogations are in place.
  • Act as main point of contact for group specialists for such subjects as terms of reference, technical feed-back (both ways), derogations, specific dossiers etc.

Key requirements:

  • Strong technical experience in operating and commissioning turbomachinery packages (gas compressors, gas turbines or similar)
  • Good capability in investigating in detail, within an engineering team, using proven methodologies (RCA, RCM, FMECA) when needed, technical issues, using all symptoms and information available : process trends, mechanical parameters such as vibrations and temperatures, age and design of the machines and components
  • Leadership
  • Degree in Engineering/Technical Discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartered engineer status.
  • Suitable engineering qualification with appropriate strong experience in the oil and gas industry including offshore/site experience in rotating engineering, commissioning and maintenance.
  • Solid experience in issue solving process.
  • Theoretical detailed knowledge in Gas Turbine

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Audit Leader and team in undertaking Audit, SOX and Compliance activities: Internal and Non-Op JV audits; SOX activity control testing; compliance and risk mapping support.
  • Internal and Non-Op JV Audit: Act as the focal point and supervise third parties undertaking Non-Op JV and external audits. Support the Audit Leader and business to agree Non-Op JV and non-technical audit plans re content, scope, expectations and timetable.

Responsible for leading all activities, HSSE, operations, and logistics at the well site for all well construction activities including drilling, completion and workovers.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure site safety and environment management systems are implemented as designed.
  • Manage well operations planning and execution, assuring the plan is understood and communicated.
  • Provide input in well programmes and procedures with the engineering team.
  • Control operational costs; pursue cost saving and innovative solutions for well work operations.
  • Planning, coordination and prioritization of materials and logistic operations to and from the well site.

Key requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a Drilling Supervisor position with an operator or contractor.

Drilling Operations Lead

Our Client, an International E&P Operator has an immediate requirement for a Drilling Operations Lead.

Permanent Staff role.

The successful candidate will assist the Well Engineering Manager in the management of operated and non-operated well operation activities within the BU, to ensure compliance with the well engineering management system, HSE risk management standard, wells personnel competency, government regulations and local industry guidelines and best practices with due regards for health, safety and the environment. Provide cover as Wells Technical Authority (TA) and emergency well control response as required.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technical support and influencing both operated and non-operated drilling operations and projects. Specifically: monitor operations, ensure safety incidents are investigated / closed-out and shared across asset / functional teams; Ensure all NCRs are satisfactorily closed out; Provide a weekly summary of operation (including non-ops) to the relevant Management Teams; Chair, lead and issue minutes for the bi-monthly Drilling Scheduling meeting; Perform offshore/harbour rig/vessel assurance visits as required.
  • Responsible for reviewing and technically assuring/signing-off of drilling operational documentation.
  • Responsible for ensuring well activity compliance with Government Regulations and Standards.
  • Assist Well Engineering Manager to review and technically assure / sign-off on all wells / drilling related cost estimates.
  • Responsible for managing the Well Delivery Process and ensuring correct gates and assurance levels are applied and executed in a suitable time frame to meet project delivery dates.
  • Responsible for Wells contract management
  • Assist the Well Engineering Manager in maintaining the drilling / well engineering team at the appropriate strength.
  • Cover as delegate for Well Engineering Manager in the role of Wells Technical Authority (TA) for the well design, construction and abandonment phase. Liaise with the Completions and Well Integrity Team Lead to ensure seamless transition between the construction and operational phase; and assist in the compliance with their Technical Authority (TA) duties. Liaise with asset teams and assist in resolving any potential conflict with the Well Examiner. To include well control issues and operations.
  • Provide cover, including accountability, for the Well Engineering Manager role; Also, to assist in covering for the Completions and Well Integrity Team Lead as required.
  • Collate and provide updates on an annual basis to the Well Engineering Management Standard (WEMS), perform gap analysis to ensure compliance between this document and relevant BU well engineering processes and procedures, update these documents as required.
  • Update and generate UKBU Well Engineering processes, procedures and guidelines.

Key requirements:

  • Relevant degree preferred, but appropriate training & development with a known operator acceptable
  • IWCF Level 4 Drilling Well Control (Combined) Certificate.
  • Medical and relevant offshore certification to allow offshore travel UK North Sea.
  • Extensive industry experience in drilling and well operations; to include wells team lead / drilling superintendent and day drilling supervisor experience. Operator experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience in Technical Authority role but not essential.
  • Proven track record of operational design, planning and executional delivery for exploration, appraisal and development wells.
  • Proven experience with completions, workovers and well intervention well work.
  • Proven knowledge and track record for HS&E delivery.
  • Technically competent and knowledgeable / experienced on drilling equipment, all rig types and well control situations and associated well kill equipment.
  • Experience of taking on new rigs, commissioning / upgrades, and taking rigs and new crews out from harbour.
  • Ideally experienced with managing / operating with semi-submersible, jack up, LWIVs and fixed platform operations in the UK North Sea.

The Senior Drilling Cost Analyst provides estimating, budgeting, cost control and high-level planning support functions to the Company, ensuring that appropriate decisions are taken with full knowledge of budget and cost impact.  The value to the Company of this position is in the development and monitoring of budgets, analysis of actual spend, forecasting of future spend and the ability to challenge costs at every stage. These points are fundamental and essential in enabling the Company to accurately plan and budget for the future.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of drilling and wells budgets including departmental forecasts. Ensure data meets requirements and adheres to the relevant timetable and deadlines. Liaise between cost performance teams ensuring consistent workscopes and budget scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain reports in SAP to monitor expenditure against budgets, forecasts, commitments and AFEs. Conduct monthly cost control reviews and update as appropriate. Consolidate forecast information, produce and review monthly to agree the forecast.
  • Work closely with management in the evaluation of technical/commercial aspects of commitment proposals. Provide cost estimates from scopes for discussion/approval by management for inclusion into AFEs and budgets.
  • Assist Contract Compliance Group in ensuring effective and efficient invoice administration.
  • Ensure that all Internal control and SOX procedures are fully complied with.

Key requirements:

  • Degree holder and/or qualified accountant (CIMA) preferred.
  • Experience in the oil industry in a business and commercial or finance environment
  • Good understanding of the technical operations of drilling activities within the oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a sound knowledge of financial analysis techniques and economic measures.
  • Experience of budget preparation, cost control and planning within a large organisation.
  • Knowledge of accounting and reporting standards.
  • Computer literate with experience of various applications, primarily SAP, Excel and Powerpoint.
