Our client, an Aberdeen operator, is seeking a Subsea Project Engineering responsible for ensuring compliance with their Well Engineering Management System / HSE Management System / Well Delivery Process and all relevant Government Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide technical discipline expertise to support the Asset Supply Chain Team on all relevant contractual issues.
  • To provide technical discipline expertise to support the Asset HSES Team on all safety and environmental issues and to provide technical discipline expertise to support the Asset QAQC Team on all delivery and equipment issues.
  • To Project Manage manufacture and delivery , review the design, communicate with stakeholders (both internal and external), agree the QA plan, monitor progress, identify issues / solutions, issue minutes and assign actions, provide weekly updates, perform witness testing and capture / risk assess any change and deliver all relevant documentation on completion of project.
  • Where applicable; support the Asset on all well work (design documents, cost estimates, management of change etc.) to manufacture and deliver the project.
  • Where applicable; support the Asset on all well work (operational programmes, risk assessments etc.) to prepare and install the wellhead.
  • Where applicable; support the Asset with incident investigations, capture lessons learned and make suggestions for improvement.

Arising as a result of recent growth, this role will report to the Group Subsurface Manager and will work alongside functional colleagues (Development Geoscience / Petroleum Engineering) in the Company’s London Headquarters. Collectively, this multidisciplinary team is accountable for support and review of subsurface analyses of Discovered Resources associated either with the Company’s producing and developing assets, or, with Growth Team activities

The Chief Reservoir Engineer is accountable for Reservoir Engineering functional excellence throughout the company and for ensuring that reservoir engineering analyses are effectively integrated with other key disciplines (particularly G&G and Petroleum Engineering, but also facilities, well design, commercial, etc as appropriate). An important aspect of the Chief Reservoir Engineer’s role is to support reservoir engineering personnel within the company through expert guidance and advice.

The Chief Reservoir Engineer is a required participant in the Functional Review assurance process; the incumbent will endorse (or not) investment proposals and provide expert advice to enable the Executive Committee to make investment decisions. In addition, the Chief Reservoir Engineer is accountable for classification and quantification of companywide Discovered Resources (Reserves and Contingent Resources) and for preparation and maintenance of the company’s Defence Documentation.

This is a highly visible role which involves routine contact with executive management and also the ability to influence without (line) authority. The incumbent will not only be an expert reservoir engineer but also have high emotional intelligence and the ability to quickly form high quality working relationships in a variety of different cultural settings.

 

Applications are invited from those who possess a Petroleum Engineering Degree (or similar) and have significant (c.20+ years) post graduate experience in upstream oil and gas (exploration & production) with a key focus on reservoir engineering. Broader commercial/ BD experience is valued.

Candidates must be an expert reservoir engineer with significant hands-on experience in all aspects of reservoir engineering including “Classical” analysis, PVT, SCAL, pressure transient analysis, material balance analysis, reservoir simulation. They must possess a good understanding of G&G, RE, Production Systems Engineering, facilities, well design, petroleum economics and how these disciplines are inter-linked. Hands-on working knowledge of key software (Petrel, Eclipse, Kappa, Petroleum Experts IPM, etc) is a requirement as is a good general knowledge of the oil industry.

  • Evaluate resources and reserves ranges of field development projects in association with his / her G&G colleagues. Expected to provide an evaluation of subsurface risks and uncertainties of these projects. Fluent in reservoir simulation techniques, model building, material balance, volumetric, decline curve analysis and pressure transient analysis.
  • Monitor and performs analysis of field and well production behaviour incorporating G&G understanding of the field in order to define the reservoir management strategy and to propose production optimising operations. Prepare well intervention requests and WSOR documents.
  • Responsible for Well Intervention preparation, providing the geoscience inputs in particular for safety critical parameters such as reservoir pressure evaluations and fluid properties.
  • May be called offshore to witness relevant operations as and when required.
  • Perform yearly reserves and profile evaluations for the corporate reserves exercise (Prime), LTP exercises. Perform prospect evaluations studies working closely with the G&G team.
  • Apply Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy and Safety Management System.
  • Identify and promote value adding opportunities (i.e. production and reserves increases)
  • Perform reserves / resources evaluation autonomously in accordance with Group standards and within tight timelines.

Job Requirements:

  • BSc Hons Degree in Engineering or related discipline (MSc preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in reservoir engineering related topics in the oil industry, including field experience of reservoir monitoring activities (i.e. witnessing DST, wireline logging, perforations). Has performed project development studies sanctioned by a REGIS or equivalent peer reviews. Has experience in preparation and follow up of well construction operations (i.e. WSOR preparation, completion design).

Our client, a large international operator is seeking an experienced Subsea Wells Supervisor to predominantly work offshore (14/14 rotation), with ad-hoc office based work when required.

Overall duties of the role:

  • Continually monitor the status of all process and utility equipment, identifying process equipment malfunctions and speedily reporting them.  Operate as instructed designated process and utilities equipment.  Carry out adjustments to plant and equipment to maximise efficiency and on stream reliability.  Carry out maintenance and performance monitoring of equipment within the constraints of maintenance discipline training, experience and agreed scope of work and provide assistance to others.
  • Liaise with Maintenance Technicians (Electrical/Instrument/Mechanical/Telecoms) on the shutdown, isolation and restart of plant being maintained to ensure non availability of equipment is kept to a minimum.

Our client, an operator based in London, is seeking a Wells Team Leader for a 12 month contract, to be responsible for the provision of all well engineering activities and interfaces for an international project.

Key responsibilities will be to ensure HSE requirements are integral to all aspects of well design and well operations and in accordance with the company’s Policies and procedures and the Well Engineering Management System. The role is based within the business unit offices in London with international business trips, as required.

Key Accountabilities:
• Ensures HSE is at the highest priority in all elements of project delivery.

• Own the delivery of the Wells campaign from cradle to grave including front end design, project execution planning, resourcing, contracting, detailed design, execution and close out.

Our client, an international operator, is seeking a Geophysical Advisor / Senior Geohysicist for their London office on a staff basis.

This role will report directly to the Brazil Exploration Manager.

The successful candidate:

• Will be an experienced, commercially aware geophysicist with a strong technical background in operated exploration programs and new ventures.

• Will have the ability to influence decisions made through their technical expertise and experience and will be capable of managing issues that may arise as part of exploration evaluations.

• Will be able to quickly identify the critical value drivers of a project and know when additional support is required to address them.  They will be comfortable working to multiple strict deadlines and confident representing the company in an outward facing role.

• Although this role will report into the Brazil EM, the position will also be required to support new venture activity beyond Brazil as and when required, and will also provide peer review and technical support across the London based exploration portfolio as an experienced and respected member of the exploration team.

Key Accountabilities;

• Ensuring health, safety, environmental and security of self and others.

• Commercially aware exploration geophysicist capable of managing those issues that may arise as part of exploration evaluation and operations.

• Collaborate with other Exploration BU geophysicists to ensure sharing of best practice and consistency in interpretation and quality of technical assessments and outputs.

• Comfortable working to multiple strict deadlines, and will be confident representing the company in an outward facing role and dealing with senior stakeholders.

• Co-ordinate technical evaluations; manage outsourced projects as required and provide quality assurance on geoscience issues.

• Work with other evaluation team members to steer evaluation work through the company’s internal Functional Review and Gate processes, following EMS guidelines.

• Ensure effective documentation and data management of evaluations

• Continue to develop own expertise and knowledge.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Delivery of 2 well exploration programme in Brazil (1 operated) in 2020, including well planning and operational support.

• Maturation of evaluation on existing Brazil licences plus participation in New Venture evaluations.

• High quality mapping and prospect evaluation, including post-drill assessment.

• Detailed seismic reservoir characterisation.

• Depth conversion sensitivities.

• Seismic attribute analysis and data conditioning.

• Detailed structural mapping.

• Work with Geologist and Function to update volumes and risks based on all new incoming data.

 

Candidate requirements:

Qualifications –

  • Geology or Geophysics degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience (required)
  • Post graduate education, or equivalent (advantage)
  • Relevant PhD (advantage)

Skills / experience –
• Relevant post graduate experience in upstream oil and gas (exploration & production), based on core skills in geophysics with a minimum of 8 years industry experience in exploration focussed roles.

• Experience of engaging and influencing partners and key stakeholders.

• Direct experience of maturing leads to robust drillable prospects, well planning, operations and post-well analysis and reporting. Proven interpreter and prospect generator.

• Direct experience of working as part of an international new ventures team.

• Experience of seismic survey acquisition and reprocessing and interacting with seismic contractors.

• Ability to interpret in a 3D multi-cube environment. Familiarity with relevant geoscience software (e.g. Kingdom, Petrel, Paleoscan etc).

• Expertise of AVO techniques, QI assessments and 3D visualisation. Familiarity with the SAAM (Seismic amplitude analysis module) an advantage

• Familiar with seismic acquisition and processing in both the time and depth domain

• Thorough understanding of the Company’s EMS maturation workflow (advantage).

• Ability to quickly identify and quantify the key value drivers of an exploration project.

• Experience working in a number of basins both regionally and at the prospect level (advantage)

• Ability to work on a number of projects at the same time

• Understanding of exploration project economics and commercial drivers.

• Ability to contribute technically beyond immediate project focus.

Our client, a large international operator is seeking experienced Senior Well Site Leaders / Drilling Supervisors to support their offshore operations.

Reporting to the Wells Superintendent, the Senior Well Site Leader (SWSL) is accountable for leading, supervising and implementing the flawless execution of safe, compliant and reliable well operations (including new wells and side-tracking of older wells) in accordance with Company policies, standards and programs.

Although the work is primarily based offshore, some time may be required in the office undertaking operation planning, after action reviews, updating site procedures, practices or other as required work.

As the wells will be very complex and demanding, Senior Well Site Leaders will be utilized to fill both the day and night WSL positions on rotation basis.  The individuals that are selected with be willing and able to fill either slot and willing to be interchangeable.

Key accountabilities include:

HSE Compliance and Well Integrity:

  • Provide visible safety leadership & Encourage workers to “Stop The Job”
  • Manage interface between Rig Contractor Safety Management System (SMS) & Company’s Operating Management System (OMS); adherence to Company Policies, Standards and Practices; and Monitor Safety Critical Equipment (SCE) Maintenance activities including deferrals.
  • Ensure that all planned operations are risk assessed and adequate barriers and mitigations are in place.
  • Ensure Well Control Bridging Document requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure all Environmental Rules & Regulations and Safety Management system are adhered to.
  • Conduct audits and Leadership Inspections (Continuous Audit Process & Permit to Work) as required. Follow through with e-Wells drills and verification processes

Operations:

  • Demonstrate strong operational leadership, in line with Company Values and Behaviours
  • Accountable for meeting Company – Minimum Expectations for a WSL
  • Accountable for the execution of well site operations in accordance with the approved plan
  • Accountable for understanding, and effective communication of, all operational risk and associated mitigations

 

  • Ensure all deviations from the agreed plan are discussed with the rig management team and, if appropriate, office based wells team
  • Ensure efficient movement of all personnel, equipment and materials
  • Accountable for the preparation, understanding and issuing of Rig Work Instructions
  • Accountable for accurate recording at the Well-site, i.e. Daily Drilling Reports and ensuring distribution
  • Manage Service Companies as required
  • Accountable for conducting morning calls with onshore operations team
  • Responsible for investigation and close out of all Non-Productive Time (NPT) or failures relating to Wells operations
  • Accountable to complete Company Contractor Scorecards, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and provide feedback as required
  • Accountable for conducting After Action Reviews to capture and embed lessons learned / opportunities for improvement

Essential Requirements:

  • University Degree OR Valid Well Control for Subsea and Surface Supervisory Level to Industry Accreditation for example: International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), International Well Control Forum (IWCF) WellCap.
  • Valid BOSIET desirable.
  • Minimum Twelve (12) years of experience in drilling operations.
  • Minimum Seven (7) years of experience as Drilling WSL in offshore environment (drill ship or semi-submersible rig,)
  • Minimum Two (2) years as Drilling SWSL
  • Demonstrable leadership of Safety and Risk Management
  • HTHP Exploration well experience of at least two years

The start date for this role is January 2019 for an initial 12 month contract with line review on a 28/28 rotation.

  • Provision of front-end engineering and feasibility studies in support of company projects and wells as directed by the Well Engineering Leader and/or Senior Drilling Engineer.

The job holder must have:

  • Organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills, especially in Drilling Engineering software.
