Aberdeen operator requires an experienced HSE Manager to provide strategic, tactical and operational support to the Development Project Manager to lead the company’s drive for global excellence in occupational health and safety and environmental performance through influencing project and contractor management and directly managing the project HSE needs.

This role will be responsible for developing and sustaining a culture that stimulates high levels of HSE performance and continuous improvement to meet the company’s HSES Policy and HSE Values.

Duties will involve developing and implementing a clear and measurable HSE framework across multiple projects to cover all project objectives and targets including audits, assurance, resource planning, development and other needs.

This role with work closely with and engage the BU HSE Manager and HSE Excellence Manager and, from a functional perspective, direct a small team of HSE professionals embedded within the Development Projects.
Will also work closely with, engage and influence project development key contractors in all aspects of HSE.

The successful candidate will be required to ensure all HSES incidents are accurately and promptly reported into the company’s reporting tools / systems and that incidents are thoroughly investigated according to their potential severity to determine root cause and learning.

A further responsibility will be to monitor HSE performance and take corrective action where necessary.

Candidates must demonstrate proven experience in a similar role with demonstrable key achievements.  Must also have extensive HSE Project Experience and have previous experience working for an Operator, outsourced operator arrangements, FPSO’s and Drilling Management of major contractors.

Must be able to travel overseas if required.

Key Requirements:

  • Ensuring compliance with current regulations, codes and standards is established and maintained within the Marine discipline.

  • Responsible for co-ordinating all planned and corrective inspection, maintenance and repair programs for any Marine systems
  • Ensuring equipment reliability and availability and performance/compliance targets are achieved and that all losses associated with Marine systems are investigated.
  • Monitoring the maintenance and achievement of performance standards (within Marine area). Take appropriate action if standard is not achieved.
  • Following marine projects throughout their lifecycle and be Company’s Marine representative during each project phase from identification through to commissioning and review, providing assurance that the project delivers on its objectives in operation
  • Ensuring correct competency of offshore marine personnel is constantly maintained – Company standard and Class / Flag compliant.

 

Key Deliverables/Activities

  • Understanding and prioritising marine issues and working with team to provide solution.
  • Developing and planning campaigns for Marine equipment maintenance and overhaul
  •  Maintaining equipment reliability, availability and performance data and provide input to the asset monthly report
  • Reviewing and ensuring continuous improvement of maintenance strategies and routines. Provide input / advice on materials control and routine spares holdings.
  • Active involvement in the implementation and continual improvement of the companies Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures. Follow up Incident Investigation and sharing of Incident lessons learned from a Marine Perspective.
  • Conducting periodic offshore visits and audit processes and procedures, within the Marine area, during these audits
  • Liaising with Planning and ensure any offshore visits are suitably planned and adhere to the required plan entry criteria.
  • Monitor status and provide onshore support for Marine Systems including Mooring, Hull Integrity, Stability, Marine Utilities, Lifeboats, Helideck, Navigational Aids and Cranes including LOLER

Qualification and experience requirements:

Senior Well Site Leader / Drilling Supervisor

Our client, a large international operator is seeking experienced Senior Well Site Leaders / Drilling Supervisors to support their offshore operations.

Reporting to the Wells Superintendent, the Senior Well Site Leader (SWSL) is accountable for leading, supervising and implementing the flawless execution of safe, compliant and reliable well operations (including new wells and side-tracking of older wells) in accordance with Company policies, standards and programs.

Although the work is primarily based offshore, some time may be required in the office undertaking operation planning, after action reviews, updating site procedures, practices or other as required work.

As the wells will be very complex and demanding, Senior Well Site Leaders will be utilized to fill both the day and night WSL positions on rotation basis.  The individuals that are selected with be willing and able to fill either slot and willing to be interchangeable.

Key accountabilities include:

HSE Compliance and Well Integrity:

  • Provide visible safety leadership & Encourage workers to “Stop The Job”
  • Manage interface between Rig Contractor Safety Management System (SMS) & Company’s Operating Management System (OMS); adherence to Company Policies, Standards and Practices; and Monitor Safety Critical Equipment (SCE) Maintenance activities including deferrals.
  • Ensure that all planned operations are risk assessed and adequate barriers and mitigations are in place.
  • Ensure Well Control Bridging Document requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure all Environmental Rules & Regulations and Safety Management system are adhered to.
  • Conduct audits and Leadership Inspections (Continuous Audit Process & Permit to Work) as required. Follow through with e-Wells drills and verification processes

Operations:

  • Demonstrate strong operational leadership, in line with Company Values and Behaviours
  • Accountable for meeting Company – Minimum Expectations for a WSL
  • Accountable for the execution of well site operations in accordance with the approved plan
  • Accountable for understanding, and effective communication of, all operational risk and associated mitigations

 

  • Ensure all deviations from the agreed plan are discussed with the rig management team and, if appropriate, office based wells team
  • Ensure efficient movement of all personnel, equipment and materials
  • Accountable for the preparation, understanding and issuing of Rig Work Instructions

  • Accountable to complete Company Contractor Scorecards, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and provide feedback as required
  • Accountable for conducting After Action Reviews to capture and embed lessons learned / opportunities for improvement

Essential Requirements:

  • University Degree OR Valid Well Control for Subsea and Surface Supervisory Level to Industry Accreditation for example: International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), International Well Control Forum (IWCF) WellCap.
  • Valid BOSIET desirable.
  • Minimum Twelve (12) years of experience in drilling operations.
  • Minimum Seven (7) years of experience as Drilling WSL in offshore environment (drill ship or semi-submersible rig,)
  • Minimum Two (2) years as Drilling SWSL
  • Demonstrable leadership of Safety and Risk Management
  • HTHP Exploration well experience of at least two years

The start date for this role is January 2019 for an initial 12 month contract with line review on a 28/28 rotation.

This role is independent to the Engineering and Operations functions and will utilise the company’s management system and the E&P referential Drilling & Wells Company Rule in the execution of his/her duties. The Well Examiner will also refer to and communicate industry best practice where applicable, as well as utilise his/her competence and personal experience in well examination matters.

Specific requirements for this role:

Demonstrable experience as a well examiner with an offshore oil and gas operator.

Degree qualified (in an engineering or technical discipline) and have appropriate experience in drilling or completions engineering and well operations, including a period spent offshore and a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position.

Able to meet the minimum standard as outlined in Oil and Gas UK Guidelines on the Competency of Well examiners 2017.

Valid International Well Control Forum (IWCF) certificate at level 4 supervisor including subsea installations.

Well Examiners will undergo a competence assessment.

Our client, an oil and gas operator, is seeking an experienced Fluids Supervisor to work offshore 3/3 rotation on board a semi-submersible rig in the UK North Sea.

Key Activities:

  • Optimise and the application of fluids, cement, and waste management services in the field.
  • Coordinate actions between the different parties involved in order to ensure that the best procedures are followed.
  • Follow up the daily consumption of the chemical approved and issue the required report at the end of each well.
  • Review laboratory analyses, control logistics and inventory management
  • Ensure that Fluids and Cement programs and procedures are available, understood and adhered to by personnel involved.

Job Holder Requirements:

  • Possess current UK Offshore Survival Certificate and current UK offshore medical certificate, MIST, Fire fighting
  • Must have Drilling Well Control Programme (IWCF Certification), Combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack Level 4
  • Should be educated to graduate level or similar level with engineering training and demonstrate high level of technical knowledge in the fluids area with appropriate experience in offshore drilling operations
  • Extensive cementing experience
  • Should have good working knowledge of internal and external rules, standards and procedures in the fluids and environmental areas, and be trained to level appropriate to statutory regulations
  • Fluent spoken and written English compulsory
  • Fluent spoken and written French desirable
