Our Client, an International E&P Company has an immediate requirement for a Senior Petroleum Engineer.

Contract basis – Ltd. Co PAYE (inside IR35) or Agency PAYE.

Occasional travel offshore.

Provide petroleum engineering and production engineering support and guidance to operated assets and FPSO. Responsible for optimising production and injection performance and resolving relevant operational issues. Provide petroleum engineering expertise and guidance to other UK asset teams as required.

 

Scope of service:

  • Responsible for production and petroleum engineering activities. Optimise production and injection wells via surveillance techniques, well modelling and field implementation. Work with operations to continuously optimise production wells in response to operational issues. Work with Reservoir Engineers to define and implement reservoir management plans.
  • Provide oversight of well allocation processes. Provide timely production forecasts, production loss management and production efficiency tracking.
  • Develop plans and proposals for well interventions and or process enhancements. Update and document opportunity lists and ensure these are fed into the respective asset opportunity hopper. Prepare and lead annual well reviews for each asset.
  • Provide petroleum engineering support for any future well intervention operations. Be prepared to travel offshore to the wellsite should petroleum engineering supervision be required
  • Provide petroleum engineering support for any new field development or infill well drilling opportunities. Act as petroleum engineering focal point for completion and well test design. Provide advice and vendor supervision of artificial lift design, for gas lift and ESP completions.
  • Provide peer assist support and hands-on technical support to other asset teams as required. Mentor and develop less experienced PEs and others.

Service requirements:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline, preferably a post-graduate qualification in petroleum engineering or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience as a petroleum engineer with an E&P Operator working on a broad range of operated field development and production projects.
  • Track record of proactively proposing and implementing successful production optimisation opportunities and well intervention work.
  • Experience and detailed understanding of offshore well intervention operations, production operations, facilities optimisation and artificial lift techniques (gas lift, ESP, etc.) are required.
  • Knowledge (e.g. systems, software, procedures, regulations):
  • Experience of classical petroleum/production engineering techniques.
  • The candidate should have skills and experience in industry-standard Petroleum Engineering software such as: Petroleum Experts suite (Prosper and GAP required, PVT and MBal are desirable); OFM and production surveillance systems.
  • Knowledge of OGA production reporting systems is required, to generate the monthly PPRS as well as the annual stewardship submission.
  • Good awareness of latest industry innovations and technology.

Staff position with a very attractive financial package

Provision of geological interpretation and support to the asset for field development and production, subsurface geological descriptions, reservoir modelling, volumetric evaluations and well planning, incorporating analysis and integration of complex subsurface datasets. Providing technical input into Field Development and Reservoir Management plans.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provision of geoscience interpretation and input to well planning and the operational phase of development drilling. Expected to play an integral part in the definition of well targets and trajectories and to take a leading role in decision making during geosteering operations.
  • Evaluation and interpretation of geological and well data and integration with seismic and reservoir engineering data and interpretations. Develop fit-for-purpose geological descriptions of area reservoirs and prospects, to be used as input for reservoir model building, volumetric and risk assessments.
  • Development and maintenance of static reservoir models using Petrel.
  • Support geological interpretation and activity across UK Business Unit as required.
  • Analyse geological data and integrate this with input from other subsurface disciplines to define robust, fit-for purpose geological descriptions that incorporate a clear understanding of reservoir uncertainty and the impact on business decisions.

Key requirements:

  • A degree in Geology or a related discipline, preferably with a post-graduate qualification in Petroleum Geoscience, Geophysics or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience as a development geoscientist with an E&P Operator working on operated field development projects and producing assets, with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpretive geological skills including sedimentology, petrology, stratigraphy and well-correlation, structural geology and geological interpretation of well-logs with demonstrated expertise in integrated reservoir characterisations and volumetric analysis. Knowledge of and an ability to carry out classical seismic interpretation and an awareness of rock-physics interpretation.
  • Geological operations and development well planning experience, coupled with a good understanding of drilling and production operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of 3D geocellular model design and extensive experience of static model building, with detailed knowledge of current available software tools (e.g. Petrel) and ability to integrate geophysical attributes into static models. Understanding of dynamic reservoir simulation modelling and integration of static models into the simulation model realm.
  • Experience of reservoir uncertainty analysis for volumetric analysis and static uncertainty inputs into dynamic simulation models.
  • Experience in planning and executing value-adding geological evaluation and modelling work-programmes and studies and managing third-party contractors.

Drilling Permit Coordinator

The Drilling Permit Coordinator is a pivotal role in terms of managing the interface between drilling and ops. This role requires a proactive approach, not only regards planning and in the achievement of performance but also to drive continuous improvement. This is relevant to both safety and operations.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Area Authority to determine whether a Work Control Certificate (WCC) are required or not for upcoming tasks, ensuring all ISSOW mandatory stipulations are in place prior to final permit issue by Area Authority.
  • Conduct, coordinate and assist in preparing WCC for Drilling and Well Intervention works including related service company WCC requirements.
  • To be fully conversant with isolations and impact of isolations attached to WCCs and inform Drilling Supervisor of any conflict caused by WCC that may affect upcoming operations.
  • Audit isolations, work permits and critical risk assessments.
  • Authorises, or if the situation warrants, suspends any job activity in the platform sector where he is responsible.
  • Performs safety audits as per SHE audit plan. Reports and document findings to Drilling Superintendent and Senior Drilling Supervisor.
  • Ensure all Service Company personnel have required training and qualifications to be able to use the ISSOW permit system, either in the capacity of Work Party Member or Performing Authority.

Key requirements:

  • UK Offshore Survival, MIST and current offshore medical.
  • Knowledge of offshore drilling, well completion and intervention operations.
  • Good knowledge of platform systems, processes and operating parameters.

The Senior Subsea Engineer is responsible for engineering, planning and execution of subsea projects either from MODU’s and LWI vessels or in support of organisational deliverables.

 

Scope of service:

  • Provide leadership in demonstrating commitment to HSE policy.
  • Coach and mentor subsea engineers to deliver scope as well as personal and technical development to build enduring capability.

Within technically challenging areas, with budgetary and time constraints, the job holder will play an important role in optimizing well operations and ensuring that wells are fit for purpose by design and installation.  This is critical to achieving the objectives of the Well Engineering function.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrate personal commitment to Safety, Health, Environment, Integrity & Security Policies
  • Positively participate in teams of multi-disciplinary engineers providing completion engineering & testing solutions as part of the well delivery process e.g. well planning preparation, tubing stress analysis, material selection, tendering, purchasing, QA/QC, CWOP, peer reviews, risk assessment & execution of operations in a timely manner
  • Accountability for controlling completion & workover costs [typically £10M – £20M per well]

  • Ensure wells in operation meet Company Rules throughout the well lifecycle and complete derogations as required

  • Maintain strong link with headquarters. Participate in HQ Well Integrity Surveillance Committee (WISC) reviews.

Key requirements:
