Contract Basis – Agency PAYE.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Company Secretary in ensuring that all statutory books and registers of the companies are maintained, and all statutory filings completed and submitted on a timely basis in order to meet the requirements of all statutory bodies.
  • Assist the General Counsel and members of the Legal Department in carrying out the day-to-day work and duties of the department.
  • Maintain the databases used by the Legal Department for matter management.
  • IS correspondent for the Legal Department continuously updated on the functions of IS tools and developments relevant for the legal profession.

Key requirements:

Our Client, an Aberdeen based International E&P Operator has a requirement for a Senior Tax Analyst (Upstream) to provide tax technical advice to the UK E&P business unit, including advice on acquisition and disposal of assets. With responsibility for tax accounting and compliance including submission of upstream corporation tax and PRT returns, reviewing and providing input to the tax calculation in the financial statements. Will be a key contributor to the tax department’s goal of delivering strong tax advisory and compliance services to the E&P branch on a range of tax issues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lead Tax Analyst on the tax implications of a range of issues such as acquisitions and disposals of assets including the review of legal contracts and tax warranties and indemnities where appropriate; ensure that subsequent tax returns reflect position.
  • Provide tax support to Economics team for Long Term Plan and other ad-hoc projects so that tax impact is accurately reflected in modelling.
  • Support Upstream tax accounting process including review of tax charge, recommend updates to tax calculation in management accounts tax models so that tax charge is accurately calculated; prepare consolidated proof of tax.
  • Responsible for corporation tax compliance for organisations main operating entities.
  • Preparing PRT returns including submitting six-monthly returns to HMRC, responding to questions from HMRC and reviewing assessments.
  • Prepare Sch 23 returns and submit to HMRC.
  • Identify qualifying costs for Research and Development Expenditure Credit, prepare claims and agree with HMRC.

Key requirements:

  • Preferably degree qualified with several years post qualification tax experience.
  • It is preferred the candidate holds the relevant professional qualification – CTA, ACA, or CA – and upper end of pqe range.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of corporation tax, petroleum revenue tax and experience of providing proactive commercial tax advice on business transactions.
  • Experience of negotiation with the tax authorities.

Main Responsibilities:

On-going Support and Risk Management

  • Support the organisations assets regarding Health and Safety, acting as primary onshore Health and Safety focal point for asset personnel.
  • Ensure asset compliance with current legislative requirements and implement changes to ensure compliance with any forthcoming legislative or industry changes.
  • Review asset-wide accident and incident information statistics and STEP data to identify trends.
  • Develop campaigns in conjunction with other asset EHS Advisors to highlight performance and develop methods to address identified issues.
  • Provide, produce, and support in presenting material associated with incident and accident reduction, legislative changes, or health issues.
  • Assist operations teams in risk assessment activities, supporting the Occupational Health Advisor.
  • Complete actions as per annual EHS Plan.
  • Provide weekly and monthly Status Reports.

Incidents, Incident Investigation and Action Close-out

  • Review all asset pre-notifications and discuss, with the asset to confirm classifications remain correct. Assist asset with preparation of any regulatory notifications for review by EHS Manager or Deputy prior to submission to HSE/SEPA.
  • Liaise with contract companies to ensure accuracy of incident information held by the organisation and the contractor companies.
  • Review all asset investigation reports, with involvement in the incident investigation wherever appropriate.
  • Prepare lessons learned documents for key incidents, summarising these at weekly team meetings.
  • Ensure asset investigation reports and related documentation are being correctly input to the Enablon system and actioned accordingly.

Safety Management System

  • Conduct review and amendment process to ensure legal and other compliance in respect of all aspects of occupational health and safety management. Instigate formal procedural updates as required within the Business Management System (BMS).

Main Responsibilities (cont’d):

Regulatory Inspections

  • Participate in Regulatory Inspection Meetings, including gathering of pre-inspection data to be available to the Regulator.
  • Support the assets during planned regulatory inspections, facilitating inspections as required.
  • Co-ordinate Apache responses to formal Regulatory data requests for onpass to the EHS Manager for formal submission.

Auditing

  • Develop audit protocols, in line with Company Procedures, to enable key risk areas to be audited. Work with other EHS Advisors to ensure consistency and agreed audit protocols.
  • Prepare an annual asset audit schedule covering all key risk areas and supporting other EHS Advisors.
  • Work with the EHS Technical Assistant to input audit actions items into Enablon, monitoring action items to completion.
  • Participate in EHS audits of key contractors as part of the EHS Department audit schedule.
  • Facilitate any audits undertaken by the Corporate Group.

Safety Representatives

  • Participate in onshore Safety Representatives meetings and respond to any asset queries raised by asset Safety Representatives.

 

Key requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Experience working for and / or with large energy companies that have worldwide assets and operations.
  • Working knowledge of ISSOW.
  • NEBOSH / relevant NVQ Qualifications.
  • Lead auditor training.
  • Incident Investigation Training, including root cause analysis.
  • Offshore Survival Certificate or willingness to complete training and travel offshore.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with peers across an organisation.

Skills:

  • Must have several years practical experience as a Drilling Engineer in well planning operations and as a Rig Site Drilling Engineer; or good experience developed with a drilling contractor, through the career progression from Roustabout to Toolpusher in line with drilling industry career development expectations.
  • Previous experience in a well site leadership position is essential with specific experience with safety and operational programs.
  • Must have good knowledge of the calculation skills used for well site supervision
  • Extensive experience within a North Sea environment is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of well reporting and drilling engineering software applications would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in an operator environment is preferred as is experience managing third party contractors.

Main Responsibilities:

Offshore Operations

  • Assists and deputises for Drilling Supervisor in managing rig operations. Prepares morning reports, casing tallies, cement calculations and other documents and spreadsheets as required.
  • Participates in the compilation of daily work instructions and action plans for operations and logistics.
  • Ensures familiarity with the well objectives and the detailed drilling programme. Gives careful consideration to upcoming requirements for personnel, bulks and tools.
  • Assists the Logistics Co-ordinator by compiling daily operations look a heads.
  • Performs visual checks of all rental tools and tangibles arriving on the rig to ensure that the correct items have been received in the correct quantity and in satisfactory quality.
  • Ensures records of dimensions are kept for all rental equipment run in hole.
  • Maintains electronic model of the wellbore to cross-check observed versus calculated torque, drag and hydraulics.
  • Maintains hard copy and electronic well files to meet the requirements of the Well Examination scheme, ensures timely dispatch of such records to the office-based Operations Engineer for archiving.
  • Optimises logistics versus changing downhole work scope.
  • Participates in the rig safety management system including safety behavioural programme, risk assessments, pre-tour meetings, toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Well Planning

  • Contributes to the design of wells and creates well programmes in compliance with the corporate Management System by analysing offset data, assessing risk, preparing detailed design and programme documents.
  • Proactively identifies future operations requirements, considers risks and possible outcomes. and generates contingency programmes to manage uncertainties.
  • Supports rig teams with technical and planning work to help resolve problems and execute rig operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively.

Main Responsibilities (cont’d):

End of Well Reporting

  • Creates reports for use internally and by legislative bodies by compiling operations information and performance analysis to provide an as-installed record of events and well components.
  • Assists in close out non-conformance reports.
  • Prepares section summaries and key learnings for inclusion in the End-of-well report and compiles the End of Well Report when required by the Drilling Superintendent.
  • Lessons Learned
  • Records lessons learned by analysing performance and comparing the observed result against the plan to provide learning for the organization for future operations.
  • Cost control and invoice approval
  • Monitors cost expenditure and time/cost tracking daily.

QHSE

  • Complies with, and assists team members to comply with, the corporate Management System, particularly the procedures and Guidance Documents relevant to Operations.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements to the Management System and ensures that effective controls are maintained for drilling engineering and operations.

 

Key requirements:

  • Must have a degree in technical or engineering discipline.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Drilling Supervisor and Onshore Logistics Co-ordinators to ensure equipment and materials arrive offshore in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for preparing and issuing daily look ahead reports in conjunction with Drilling Supervisor.
  • Control details of all company equipment and maintain an accurate Rental Register.
  • Liaise with marine / supply base to co-ordinate movements of supply vessels and anchor handling vessels.
  • Responsible for preparing and issuing Load Lists to coordinate timely arrival of equipment.
  • Responsible for the coordination of personnel in line with offshore operational requirements.
  • Liaise with aviation service contractor to co-ordinate scheduled crew change requirements and control flight schedules.
  • Responsible for checking all equipment and goods that are shipped to and from rig and report any non-conformances to Onshore DMC
  • Control records of rentals, equipment, and consumables, resolving issues with Onshore Materials teams and suppliers.
  • Preparation and control of manifests and return of non-required rental items.
  • Provide Onshore DMC with accurate list of rental equipment being returned.
  • Ensuring that all operations are carried out in a manner consistent with the Oil and Gas UK Guidelines for the safe Packing and Handling.
  • Co-ordinate prompt return of rental equipment and prepare accurate inbound manifests, ensuring dangerous goods and waste regulations are adhered to.
  • Communicate and work closely with the onshore based Onshore DMC, Base Focal Point, Offshore Drilling Contractor, and all Service personnel to ensure effective operations.

Key requirements:

  • Must hold current offshore survival, medical and MIST and IATA and IMDG certification. Would be preferable if candidate has COSHH, HM Customs, CHARM, and SEPA certification.
  • Must possess extensive offshore experience, including specific experience in Drilling Operations within the UKCS, in a Materials role.
  • Must have a good practical knowledge of drilling, completion or well intervention equipment and proven experience and knowledge of drilling materials movements and logistical processes.
  • Must have a working knowledge of UK Guidelines for the safe Packing and Handling of Cargo to and from Offshore Locations Issue 4 2008.(HS014) and a good understanding of UK Customs and Excise requirements relative to role.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of health and safety processes and procedures relating to drilling logistics and operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide a ‘help desk’ service to colleagues on a range of legal matters, providing a ‘headline’ response to phone calls, memos, and other requests for help, to provide a prompt and accurate response to simple queries.
  • Provide detailed advice and guidance on specific matters, based on a full understanding of the matter and including detailing options and consequences, to enable colleagues to make legal and commercial decisions based on considered and measured risks.
  • Ensure clarity of understanding of the commercial and legal requirements of the business, provide legal and commercially aware advice, and prepare legal documentation for negotiation.

Our Client, an Aberdeen based International E&P Operator has a requirement for a Senior Safety Advisor to provide safety advice and guidance primarily to the wells team and facilitates continuous improvement through the implementation of the HSSEQ Management System.

Contract Basis – Agency PAYE.

Initial Contract Duration – One year contract starting ASAP.

Location – Aberdeen, UK.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical advice and guidance to the Company on all HSSEQ matters relating to wells and drilling and any operational support where required.
  • Provide input and advice to specific well activity plans, identifies potential risks or infringements, and advises management/team members.
  • Attends and leads appropriate technical team meetings to maintain a clear understanding of operational requirements and ensure HSSEQ considerations are taken into account.
  • Develops HSSEQ plans and processes for wells activities ensuring strict compliance with Company and regulatory HSE standards and expectations and assists well management teams to execute wells programmes safely and without harm to the environment. Monitors/analyses HSSEQ performance and develops improvement plans for work activities, as appropriate.  Leads the Wells team monthly meetings to discuss annual performance and set subsequent years goals.
  • Contributes to the development of HSSEQ KPI’s for wells activities and monitors and reports on performance and provides monthly statistics to the Wells team.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve HSSEQ performance in well operations and co-ordinates activities with the Wells Manager and Team Leads to implement ideas into processes and procedures leading to continuous HSSEQ performance improvement.
  • Administers the Company’s wells specific management system.
  • Maintains an up-to-date awareness of changes to legislative requirements and ensures wells/drilling systems and procedures are updated to reflect operational requirements.
  • Works with the HSSEQ department and Wells teams to prepare responses to regulator enquiries relating to inspections and investigations.
  • Facilitates platform/mobile rig regulatory inspections where required.
  • Attends/Facilitates HAZIDs, HAZOPs, ORA’s and HIRA’s where required.
  • Makes visits offshore to enhance onshore-offshore relationships/communications, promote and support Company/contractor HSSEQ-related campaigns, conduct audits etc.
  • Develops and manages the Safety Management Interfacing process for wells activities ensuring HSSEQ requirements are considered and issues managed effectively at contract award stage and at all subsequent stages of the wells activity process. Creates interface documents with key vendors.
  • Regularly reviews contractor performance to ensure deliverables are being met. Attends QPR sessions for key contracts when required and applicable.

Main Responsibilities (cont’d):

  • Provides general advice and support across the Company on a wide range of HSSEQ related matters, as required.
  • Monitors input & output of systems such as Impact, ELogbook (ORA/OATS), on Actions Management System, Process Safety Dashboard and Intelligent Safety Sharepoint for quality control, trending and lesson learned. Assists team members in actively tracking and closing out actions by holding regular meetings with Wells team leads.
  • Dissemination of HSSEQ related information, identifying trends and providing business examples of Safety Rules, Intelligent Safety behaviours and Step Change 7Cs.
  • Develops ideas and initiates improvement in HSSEQ processes and procedures and, where appropriate, develops improvement options.
  • Provides support and input to a wide range of HSSEQ processes e.g. Incident Investigation/Reporting, Audit Procedures/Programmes, Loss Control Procedure/Investigations, Risk Assessment Procedure/Risk Assessments, Corrective/Preventive Action.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with the Wells Senior Environmental Advisor and ability to work as a team.
  • Provides HSSEQ mentoring, coaching and development opportunities for team members as needed.
  • Active member of the IMT Call out System for HSSEQ function and participation in Emergency Response and Crisis Management training exercises.

 

Key requirements:

  • Must hold NEBOSH, IOSH, Masters or similar qualification.
  • Must have valid BOSIET, MIST and Offshore Medical
  • Preferred to hold a degree in a technical/engineering discipline

Must have

  • Considerable experience in a drilling related HSSEQ role.
  • Experience in operations related HSSEQ role.
  • First-hand knowledge and experience of the UK oil and gas industry preferably within an Operator environment.
  • Considerable knowledge of the UKCS HSE regulatory regime, particularly as it applies to well management/drilling activities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with offshore/operations/technical teams and influence/challenge on strategic and operational HSSEQ issues.
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to deliver practical solutions which reflect operational constraints.
  • Incident Investigation training and experience.

Location – onshore based in Aberdeen with ad hoc offshore trips required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and development of Occupational Health and Operational Safety standards, procedures, systems, and tools.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Occupational Health and Operational Safety Compliance monitoring programme.
  • Develop and implement Occupational Health and Operational Safety training.
  • Support workforce engagement, safety rep engagement, and safety culture development programmes.
  • Development, implementation, and monitoring of behavioural safety and safety observation programmes.
  • Analysis of Occupational Health and Operational Safety trends to drive improvements.
  • Dashboard development for Occupational Health and Operational Safety KPIs.
  • Engagement with Asset HSE Teams and Onshore HSE Committee to understand and support their Occupational Health and Operational Safety requirements.
  • Preparation of Contractor Interface and emergency and bridging documents.
  • Development, implementation, maintenance and use of Occupational Health and Operational Safety specialist software.
  • Support Synergi governance and corporate Occupational Health and Operational Safety reporting requirements.
  • Provide support on Occupational Health monitoring to Medics.
  • Assist in the input of Occupational Health and Safety objectives into the annual HSE improvement plan.
  • Assist in the input of Occupational Health and Safety audits into the annual HSE audit plan through a risk based assessment.
  • Responsible for providing the required support to assets during implementation of safety and occupational health plans and procedures. This support may require spending time on the operational site during roll-out and implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities (cont’d):

  • Conduct accident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Assist in the compilation of SIMOPS dossiers for simultaneous operations between Operations and Construction and Operations and Drilling, Seismic and Operations.
  • Responsible for the HSE evaluation of contractors during the ITT process and the follow up of any recommendations made during the HSE evaluation.
  • Responsible for attending and providing the input to Contractor Performance review meetings.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of Synergi inputs and ensuring Synergi governance.
  • Monitor compliance with occupational health and hygiene standards across all assets.
  • Assist in developing health surveillance strategy for Company and Contractors so that records are kept of personnel exposure.
  • Responsible for running reports and benchmarking safety and occupational health data to input into improvement plans.

Key requirements:

  • Professional safety/occupational health qualification.
  • Must have relevant experience.
  • Capable of influencing the impact of emerging legislation and industry trends
  • Represent company at an industry level and leading and facilitating workgroups.
  • Good knowledge of UK onshore and offshore health & safety legislation, sufficient to offer good advice without reference, and be able to offer detailed advice through reference to documentation.
  • Thorough knowledge of health & safety standards and procedures.
  • Trained to lead investigations of significant accidents and incidents.
  • Possess current Offshore Survival Certificate and valid medical.
