Our client, a large Operator are seeking to recruit a Contracts Analyst to join their organisation. The role is based in their Aberdeen office on a contract basis.

The job holder will be responsible for the preparation, negotiation, award and monitoring of administration of contracts for works / goods / services in such a manner as to ensure the Company’s best commercial interests are both served and protected, monitoring relevant markets and supporting contractor performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and control all process based activities relating to onshore/offshore project service contracts in assigned portfolio including strategies, pre-qualifications, tender list development, issues of ITT/CFT, analysis of tenders, contract negotiations and the preparation of contractual documentation.
  • Proactively work with the Project Services Manager, Project Managers & relevant stakeholders to build and maintain relationships with contractors / suppliers and monitor their performance by participating in contract performance management activities.
  • Ensure that contractor / supplier selection is carried out in accordance with Company requirements and Compliance Programme and that safety and environmental assessments are part of the selection process.
  • Mitigate project risk through pro-active management and negotiation of contractual disputes. Support settlement of claims, in conjunction with senior management and Legal, by proposing strategies and actions and by participating in negotiations.

Key Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or similar and/or demonstrate significant ability through experience.

Our Client, an Aberdeen based E&P Operator has an immediate requirement for a Senior Environmental Engineer.

Contract basis – initially through to October 1st 2019, however the role is likely to be moved into the core organisation thereafter, to provide support during the operational phase.

Key Requirements:

Subsurface Manager

Our client, an international E&P operator is seeking a Subsurface Manager for their UK Business Unit. (UKBU)

Reporting to the UK Operated Assets and Technical Manager, with a functional link to the Group Subsurface Manager,  this position is a staff role, based in Aberdeen with occasional trips to London.

This role will be responsible for maintaining and developing the capabilities of the subsurface team in Aberdeen.  The role is further responsible for managing the technical quality and verification of all aspects of the UKBU subsurface work and to provide robust technical challenge to improve production performance and increase recovery from the producing assets. Additionally, the incumbent will provide subsurface resources as required to support petroleum resource reviews, UK exploration and appraisal efforts and business development assessments as required by UK and Corporate Management.

The incumbent will also be responsible for interacting and influencing functional and asset leaders within the BU as well as local and corporate management to ensure the appropriate subsurface functional support is being provided and a future resource plan has been developed and agreed with the leadership team.

Key Accountabilities include:

1. Ensuring that subsurface priorities and objectives are established and agreed by the UK-based asset managers and the Group Subsurface function.
2. To co-ordinate the production forecasting and reserves reporting for all UK assets.  To identify opportunities for gains in both areas and work across the BU to make changes happen.
3. Ensuring that the subsurface work has been quality controlled and verified prior to Corporate functional review.
4. Providing management, technical leadership and mentoring to the subsurface teams.
5. Ensuring consistency in goal setting and assessment of UKBU subsurface staff through the verification of individual performance contracts.
6. Developing a resource and succession plan for the subsurface function for all of the key subsurface resources.

 

Major Challenges:

  • Influencing the efficiency and impact of the subsurface function within the Asset-based organisation of the BU.
  • Assist exploration in the UK via near field exploration activities & provide appropriate technical support and verification/assurance for any ad hoc business development initiatives.

Candidate Qualifications and Profile:

  • Candidates must be educated to degree level in an engineering or earth science discipline, with a Masters degree in a relevant discipline preferable.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate a broad and extensive experience working in the upstream oil & gas industry, primarily focused on production and development projects along with a broad experience of all subsurface disciplines with strength in field development, reservoir modelling and production optimisation.
  • Candidates must possess a proven track record of success in leadership and have managerial experience.
  • Experience in near field exploration and decommissioning activities would be advantageous
  • An up to date working knowledge of relevant subsurface technical software is required coupled with a good understanding of drilling and production operations.

The Chief Reservoir Engineer is a required participant in the Functional Review assurance process; the incumbent will endorse (or not) investment proposals and provide expert advice to enable the Executive Committee to make investment decisions. In addition, the Chief Reservoir Engineer is accountable for classification and quantification of companywide Discovered Resources (Reserves and Contingent Resources) and for preparation and maintenance of the company’s Defence Documentation.

This is a highly visible role which involves routine contact with executive management and also the ability to influence without (line) authority. The incumbent will not only be an expert reservoir engineer but also have high emotional intelligence and the ability to quickly form high quality working relationships in a variety of different cultural settings.

Our client, a large international operator is seeking experienced Senior Well Site Leaders / Drilling Supervisors to support their offshore operations.

Reporting to the Wells Superintendent, the Senior Well Site Leader (SWSL) is accountable for leading, supervising and implementing the flawless execution of safe, compliant and reliable well operations (including new wells and side-tracking of older wells) in accordance with Company policies, standards and programs.

Although the work is primarily based offshore, some time may be required in the office undertaking operation planning, after action reviews, updating site procedures, practices or other as required work.

As the wells will be very complex and demanding, Senior Well Site Leaders will be utilized to fill both the day and night WSL positions on rotation basis.  The individuals that are selected with be willing and able to fill either slot and willing to be interchangeable.

Key accountabilities include:

HSE Compliance and Well Integrity:

  • Provide visible safety leadership & Encourage workers to “Stop The Job”
  • Manage interface between Rig Contractor Safety Management System (SMS) & Company’s Operating Management System (OMS); adherence to Company Policies, Standards and Practices; and Monitor Safety Critical Equipment (SCE) Maintenance activities including deferrals.
  • Ensure that all planned operations are risk assessed and adequate barriers and mitigations are in place.
  • Ensure Well Control Bridging Document requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure all Environmental Rules & Regulations and Safety Management system are adhered to.
