Our client, an oil and gas operator is seeking an experienced Senior Petroleum Engineer to join their operations in a staff position.

The job holder will be responsible for Production and Petroleum Engineering activities for selected operated producing oil and gas asset(s).   To optimise production and injection wells via surveillance techniques, well modelling and field implementation.

There will also be a required to work closely with Operations on a day to day basis in response to any operational issues and with Reservoir Engineers to define and implement reservoir management plans.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Petroleum Engineer with an E&P Operator working on a broad range of operated field development and production projects.
  • Track record of proactively proposing and implementing successful production optimisation opportunities and well intervention work.
  • Experience and detailed understanding of Offshore well intervention operations, production operations, facilities optimization and artificial lift techniques (gas lift, ESP, etc.) are required.
  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Preferably a post-graduate qualification in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.

Support in the development and maintenance a highly effective safety culture throughout the organisation; supporting the delivery of Incident Free Operations through coaching, knowledge sharing and by sustaining a high level of visible safety support, mentoring and guidance across all operations.

  • Drive a culture of incident free operations. Improve awareness and knowledge of hazards and the human contribution to risk.
  • Conduct inductions and deliver safety expectations to all personnel arriving offshore.
  • Attend, support and where appropriate facilitate: tool box talks, team safety discussions, the identification of the hazards, risks and mitigations for all tasks to ensure understanding.
  • Support the review and scrutiny of procedures and risk assessments to ensure control measures are adequate, suitable and understood.
  • Deliver specific training, coaching and, where appropriate, conduct competency assessments in all areas associated with safety equipment and risk management.
  • Act as the conduit between the platform, the onshore HES team and the workforce (in conjunction with the Safety and Environmental Reps) with new initiatives, delivering safety presentations on current topics or activities.
  • As the offshore Synergi Focal Point – support accident/event investigations/RCAs and the delivery of findings throughout the organisation.
  • Ensure safety alerts/Synergi actions from events are communicated and understood.
  • Conduct audits of processes, including Permit to Work administration, compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Coach, support and work with the Safety Reps and the Environmental Reps with all relevant initiatives.
  • Conduct debriefs of lessons learned, particularly following significant activity conclusion.
  • Collate incident and safety conversation data for trending, working with the HES team towards the provision of solutions for areas requiring improved safety focus.
  • This role will work in conjunction with the HES and Operations teams on the delivery of the HES strategy, providing day to day support in risk assessment, audit and incident investigation, identifying corrective actions and implementing solutions on a timely basis by involving appropriate people and resources both onshore and offshore.

Qualifications / experience / knowledge / skills required:

  • NEBOSH or equivalent
  • Considerable experience in an equivalent or similar role in the oil and gas or other high hazard industry.
  • Involvement in the implementation, support and/or management of a Corporate Safety Culture program.
  • Human Factors and behaviours.
  • Good working knowledge of UK & European HES legislation.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing and presentation skills

Senior Well Site Leader / Drilling Supervisor

Our client, a large international operator is seeking experienced Senior Well Site Leaders / Drilling Supervisors to support their offshore operations.

Reporting to the Wells Superintendent, the Senior Well Site Leader (SWSL) is accountable for leading, supervising and implementing the flawless execution of safe, compliant and reliable well operations (including new wells and side-tracking of older wells) in accordance with Company policies, standards and programs.

Although the work is primarily based offshore, some time may be required in the office undertaking operation planning, after action reviews, updating site procedures, practices or other as required work.

As the wells will be very complex and demanding, Senior Well Site Leaders will be utilized to fill both the day and night WSL positions on rotation basis.  The individuals that are selected with be willing and able to fill either slot and willing to be interchangeable.

Key accountabilities include:

HSE Compliance and Well Integrity:

  • Provide visible safety leadership & Encourage workers to “Stop The Job”
  • Manage interface between Rig Contractor Safety Management System (SMS) & Company’s Operating Management System (OMS); adherence to Company Policies, Standards and Practices; and Monitor Safety Critical Equipment (SCE) Maintenance activities including deferrals.
  • Ensure that all planned operations are risk assessed and adequate barriers and mitigations are in place.
  • Ensure Well Control Bridging Document requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure all Environmental Rules & Regulations and Safety Management system are adhered to.
  • Conduct audits and Leadership Inspections (Continuous Audit Process & Permit to Work) as required. Follow through with e-Wells drills and verification processes

Operations:

  • Demonstrate strong operational leadership, in line with Company Values and Behaviours
  • Accountable for meeting Company – Minimum Expectations for a WSL
  • Accountable for the execution of well site operations in accordance with the approved plan
  • Accountable for understanding, and effective communication of, all operational risk and associated mitigations

 

  • Ensure all deviations from the agreed plan are discussed with the rig management team and, if appropriate, office based wells team
  • Ensure efficient movement of all personnel, equipment and materials
  • Accountable for the preparation, understanding and issuing of Rig Work Instructions
  • Accountable for accurate recording at the Well-site, i.e. Daily Drilling Reports and ensuring distribution
  • Manage Service Companies as required
  • Accountable for conducting morning calls with onshore operations team
  • Responsible for investigation and close out of all Non-Productive Time (NPT) or failures relating to Wells operations
  • Accountable to complete Company Contractor Scorecards, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and provide feedback as required
  • Accountable for conducting After Action Reviews to capture and embed lessons learned / opportunities for improvement

Essential Requirements:

  • University Degree OR Valid Well Control for Subsea and Surface Supervisory Level to Industry Accreditation for example: International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), International Well Control Forum (IWCF) WellCap.
  • Valid BOSIET desirable.
  • Minimum Twelve (12) years of experience in drilling operations.
  • Minimum Seven (7) years of experience as Drilling WSL in offshore environment (drill ship or semi-submersible rig,)
  • Minimum Two (2) years as Drilling SWSL
  • Demonstrable leadership of Safety and Risk Management
  • HTHP Exploration well experience of at least two years

The start date for this role is January 2019 for an initial 12 month contract with line review on a 28/28 rotation.

Our client, an oil and gas operator is seeking an experienced Drilling Engineer (with Well Engineering experience).  The job holder will be a key member of a variety of small multi-discipline project teams supporting current and future projects.  Individual activities will also be assigned relating to topics such as new technology and performance analysis.

Key Activities:

  • Provision of front-end engineering and feasibility studies in support of company projects and wells as directed by the Well Engineering Leader and/or Senior Drilling Engineer.
  • Ensure wells related risks and opportunities are identified early and incorporated into the project risk register and planning process.
  • Provide input on well abandonment workscopes into decommissioning studies to be carried out.  The studies will comprise offset reviews, feasibility analysis and front-end engineering design.
  • Accurately prepare budget and duration required for projects.
  • Investigation and promotion of well construction performance improvement initiatives resulting from the lessons learned on previous developments.

The job holder must have:

  • The job holder will hold a BSc of MSc or equivalent in appropriate engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Offshore or Petroleum) with appropriate experience in well engineering.
  • Knowledge of UKCS suspension and abandonment guidelines.
  • Organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills, especially in Drilling Engineering software.

Our client, an oil and gas operator, is seeking an experienced Fluids Supervisor to work offshore 3/3 rotation on board a semi-submersible rig in the UK North Sea.

Key Activities:

  • Optimise and the application of fluids, cement, and waste management services in the field.
  • Coordinate actions between the different parties involved in order to ensure that the best procedures are followed.
  • Follow up the daily consumption of the chemical approved and issue the required report at the end of each well.

Job Holder Requirements:

  • Possess current UK Offshore Survival Certificate and current UK offshore medical certificate, MIST, Fire fighting
  • Must have Drilling Well Control Programme (IWCF Certification), Combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack Level 4
  • Should be educated to graduate level or similar level with engineering training and demonstrate high level of technical knowledge in the fluids area with appropriate experience in offshore drilling operations
  • Extensive cementing experience
  • Should have good working knowledge of internal and external rules, standards and procedures in the fluids and environmental areas, and be trained to level appropriate to statutory regulations
  • Fluent spoken and written English compulsory
