In-depth Project Details (click project titles for details)
Completion design for high rate gas wells in Central North Sea. Highly consolidated sands requiring ERD and horizontal wells.
Completion design in subsea wells targeting unconsolidated sands.
Testing program for ultra deep water block appraisal wells. Requiring cased hole gravel packs.
Conceptual Well Designs for High Rate Gas Production Wells, utilising multi-zone intelligent wells in soft sand reservoirs.
Delivery of well completion Basis of Design (BoD), for the appraise stage of the project.
Developed and compiled retrospective completion BoD for all Harding wells, drilled and completed during 1995-2003, to provide engineers and management with a comprehensive reference document that captures completion philosophy, strategy employed and lessons learned.
Provided conceptual and detailed engineering for a, deep water, oil field development project.
This involved well productivity and injectivity analysis from which production profiles were generated.
Work was based on near horizontal production wells with injection wells to provide pressure support.
Further work included tubing stress analysis and technical evaluation and peer review of sand control technologies.
A conceptual study selecting well construction options for a gas field development, including the application of sand control and smart completion options.
Study included offset well reviews, well trajectory planning, torque, drag and hydraulics modelling, casing design, well tieback and abandonment options. Also reviewed the completion designs with tubing stress analysis and provided productivity modelling in Prosper.
The various development options were then reviewed with detailed risk analysis and probabilistic well costs for the subsea and minimum facilities developments.
A further aspect of this work was providing key input for the Field Development Plan.
Identified the damage mechanism options and provided recommendations to increase production rates in a damaged well.
Reviewed the options and provided solutions on how to economically and effectively return a well to injection service, after being shut-in due to annulus pressure problems.
A high priority process check and installation assessment on a straddle, choke insert, for a sliding sleeve across a high water cut reservoir zone.
This technical assessment was required to strict deadlines and involved full risk analysis of the well intervention operation.
Examined the feasibility of minimising the wells required to access the reservoir and increase the reserves for a proposed field development.
Completed economic and technical evaluations on a total of four, field development options, based on five generic well designs.
A detailed analysis of damaged completion components, recovered during workover operations on a production well.
The review included service company interviews and the co-ordination of all existing completion damage data with subsequent recommendations as to the cause, effect and prevention of the damage, which provided input into the ongoing workover.
A feasibility study investigating the well design options to access two reservoir targets in the Dalmore field.
The client’s initial remit was to review two single wells against a multilateral well design, however after an initial review a single wellbore dual target well was recommended to the client as an alternative well design option.
Provided technical feasibility, risk ratings and well cost comparisons for the various single and dual target extended reach drilling (ERD) wells considered.
Work included an offset well analysis, torque, drag and hydraulics modelling, risked well costing, and the analysis of ESP issues.
This piece of work radically changed the thinking of our client and has since been the basis of their Field Development Plan.
